There are many types of events you can host to connect your fellow alumni. Some ideas include:

• Historical Tour
• Trivia Night
• Musical event or concert
• Art museum or gallery tour with alumnus/a artist
• Young alumni happy hour
• Dinner/lunch with featured speaker/guest (local noteworthy alumni)
• Play or performance with alumnus/a artist
• Wine tasting or winery visit

• A staff liaison who will be the point person between you and the Institutional Advancement team for this event. This individual will work with you from start to finish to plan logistics and market your event.
• Event registration support by handling the registration and keeping you informed on registrants. We’ll also provide the guest list and branded name tags for the event.
• A communication platform to amplify your email including email communications and social media promotion.
• Swag items for attendees. Depending on availability, we may be able to provide some Barton-themed items on a case-by-case basis.

• Events should be planned at least 12 weeks in advance.
• Pick the date, time, and location for the event.
• Be the on-site point-person leading up to and for the event.
• Keep track of who participates and share back with us.​
• Financial support for the event. If possible, we recommend putting together a small committee of your peers to assist in determining how to fund the event and prepare the necessary logistics.​

Although we might not be able to send a formal invite or provide online registration, we can still promote other alumni events on a shorter notice through various channels. Don’t be afraid to reach out and we can see how we might be able to assist with spreading the word!
