Torchbearers, the 50 Year Legacy Society, is composed of alumni whose identified class has celebrated its 50th Reunion. The newly established society is intended to honor alumni celebrating their 50th year since their first graduation and be positioned as lifelong ambassadors for the College. Through their continued generosity and contributions, Torchbearers also support the mission of the College through philanthropic gifts and service.

Qualifications

When an alumni of the College marks their 50th year since their first graduation, they are qualified to join an honorable group of alumni, known as the Torchbearers. Eligible members must have received a diploma from the College.

Recognition

Eligible alumni are invited to be inducted into Torchbearers each fall during Homecoming celebrations at a special ceremony and reception.

Each year during Homecoming weekend, the most recent anniversary class is honored and celebrated. Barton College and Alumni Association leadership are in attendance to congratulate the new class of Torchbearers.

Symbolic Displays of Membership

At the ceremony, each newly inducted member will receive a special lapel pin commemorating their membership into Torchbearers. Each member is encouraged to wear their lapel at College events to symbolize their belonging Torchbearers.
